- Alder wood was selected for the lid for its hardness, to limit cupping and warping due to temperature and moisture variations. (Please note: Temperature/moisture changes can still cause slight temporary warping of any natural wood, but in our care instructions we offer simple and effective tips to correct any such issues easily at home if that should occur.)
